Flowers in Las Ramblas

Barcelona

After a week of absence for the birth of my second daughter, I return to the blog, and this time with a question … although I almost always opted for black and white, in this case I do not know what to do. What do you like more, the b&w or the color one?

  1. I’ll definitely go for the colour one with the amazing colours of the blossoms! Great photo and it reminded me the good times from my recent travel to Spain, my gravatar picture was actually taken at the same spot too!

    • Thanks for give me your opinion…appreciate it!! I prefer the b&w but in this case, i don’t know if the colour of he flowers will make it more interesting…

  2. Congratulations! 🙂

I like the black and white one, but also like a bit of selective colour. With just the flowers in the pink vase (and the vase itself) highlighted in colour, that would be a great shot! 🙂

  3. Perhaps in this case I shall opt by the color photos. In the frame of the picture the flowers are arranged at an intermediate distance and the group of color is more suggestive.

  4. I am not sure. I kind of prefer the b/w one over the one with colour. To be honest, even if the colours of the flowers are the main point of interest, I still think that the colours are a bit distracting (especially the colours in the background).
How about a colourkey, where the flowers and the vase are coloured, but the rest b/w?
    Cheers,

    • First of all, thanks for the comment. I appreciate it! You’ve all the reason when you say that the background colours are a bit distracting, and this is what make me doubt between one or the other. About the possibility of the colourkey, it was commented by other blogger too, and i think it could be a really good solution to this photo, i’ll work in it in the next days.
      Cheers!!!!

  5. Perhaps because it is flowers– I enjoy the color! Great photographs! and all the BEST with your new daughter–what a precious gift you have brought into this world! and I am so happy that you are the kind of person who took the time …the special moments…to BE there for her birth and for your wife! Blessings to you all!

    • Really thanks!!! The idea of selective color it’s great but i never think in the possibility of blend the flowers in colour and the background in progresive grey, and it’s a really good idea, i’ll take it in consideration!

  6. While I love the colour of the flowers in the colour shot, the B&W is appealing. I would crop the B&W a little tighter though – I find the background a little distracting without the pop of colour to pull my eye out of the street and into the flower display.

  7. Personally, I would colorise the flowers and leave the rest black and white, it looks so vivid in colour though – I do prefer that.
